Cotton
Cotton is one of the easiest fabrics to care for. It can be washed in the machine - usually warm water and normal cycle works best. Any detergent will work with this fabric (for whites you can use bleach if needed). As cotton tends to shrink a lot, give the garments a gentle stretch when they come out of the wash to get them back into shape. For tumble drying we recommend to use a low setting. If it's too wrinkly you can iron it on the highest heat level once it dries.

Polyester
Polyester can be machine washed and we recommend doing so on a warm setting using an all-purpose detergent. It's great to use a fabric softener as well. If you want to tumble dry your polyester, this should be done on a low temperature setting. Remove the fabric before it is fully dry to reduce the static cling.

Viscose
For garments that are unstructured such as dresses, scarves or tops, they can be hand washed using cool water and mild detergent. The fibres in viscose can be damaged by excessive wringing and twisting, so hand washing is gentle enough to prevent that. After washing, gently squeeze out any excess water and set down flat or hang it up to air dry. If you choose to machine wash your viscose garment, use a gentle cycle and a low spin.

Wool
When hand washing wool, it should be done with cool water and a mild detergent. Garments with low wool content can be washed on a cool and gentle cycle. It should be line dried and ironed with a lot of steam.

Satin
As satin has a delicate weave, it should ideally be hand washed or cleaned using a gentle cycle. Always use cold water and rinse with a gentle detergent. If you decide to hand wash your satin garment, do not wring or twist the fabric. Do not dry on a high heat in a tumble dryer, just hang to air dry.

Chiffon
If you cannot take your chiffon garment to a dry-cleaners, it's possible to hand wash. Rub very gently using a mild detergent, making sure not to wring the fabric as it can lose its shape. Lay flat to dry rather than hanging to prevent stretching. Remember to be very gentle with this delicate fabric.

NOTE:

Our fabrics are cut off the roll and will always be sent in one continuous length. If for any reason we cannot send your fabric in one piece we will contact you via email to discuss the options.

If you are unsure about a fabric or are looking for a specific colour, we always advise to order a sample first for personal evaluation of suitability. The size of our samples are 10cm x 10cm, so they are ideal for assessing weight, stretch, feel, drape, colour, texture and more. Please note, samples are non-returnable.
